Kat Black
Principal Designer & Founder
Kat Black, the creative force behind Kat Black Interiors, is deeply passionate about curating cohesive luxury interiors and thoughtful designs. After attaining her design degree she was promptly hired on as a space planning-design assistant for a highly recognized interior design firm in Dallas. Kat quickly advanced as a lead designer and after 15 years in the industry, she continues to grow more in love with what she has the privilege to call her 'work'.
Kat thrives on forging connections with her clients, driven by a fervent commitment to turning their interior aspirations into reality. Her discerning eye for balance, space planning, and color dynamics ensures that her designs are not only timeless but also functional, elevating spaces to new heights of sophistication.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Kat cherishes quality time with her family and explores her passion for travel, drawing inspiration from the diverse cultures and landscapes she encounters.

Aimee Minnich
Design Assistant & Marketing Coordinator
Aimee joined KBI in 2023 and has proven to be an asset to the company. With several years of experience working with luxury builders and trades in DFW, she thrives in creating and strengthening vendor and client relationships.
​
Aimee is drawn to design because "it effects us in almost every aspect of our lives. Our homes, hotels, museums, etc." Her favorite part of the design process is the challenge of creating an environment that 'makes sense' and is beautiful yet functional at the same time. She loves researching and shopping for the perfect, unique conversation piece to work into a space.

In her free time, you can find Aimee engaging in extra curricular activities with her twins and tackling projects around her home.
Rachel Ahnen
Interior Designer
Originally from Northern California, Rachel earned her Bachelor's degree in Communications before pursuing her lifelong passion for interior design. After relocating to Texas in 2015, she completed her Interior Design Certification and began her professional journey in the Dallas–Fort Worth design community.

For over five years, Rachel has been designing personalized, functional spaces that reflect her clients' lifestyles, creating environments that are both beautiful and livable. Her work has been recognized with multiple design awards, a testament to her dedication to the craft and the trust she builds with each client.
​
She currently serves as the 2025 Treasurer on the Board of the Interior Design Society (IDS), staying actively engaged with the creative community that continually inspires her.
Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, exploring new towns and cities, and unwinding with a great bottle of California wine.
